Ranko Šćekić, laywer
He graduated from the Faculty of Law in Belgrade, where he passed the bar exam.
From 01.10.1988 to 30.09.1992, he worked at the Commercial Law in Bijelo Polje as a trainee judge and the clerk of the court.
He worked as a judge at the Basic Court in Kotor from 30.09.1992 to 03.04.2014, where he performed the duty of the President of the Civil Department from 2001.
In the period 2012–2013, he was the Vice President of the Court.
He finished basic and special training for mediators and has a licence issued by the Ministry of Justice of Montenegro for performing mediation at the Basic Court in Kotor. The licence is valid for the whole region of Montenegro and at all courts.
As the coordinator, he successfully realized the project on improving mediation at the Centre for Mediation of the territorial unit Kotor for the municipalities of Kotor, Tivat, Budva and Herceg Novi.
He possesses the certificate of completed training for trainers of new mediators.
He successfully finished the advanced training in applied mediation in commercial disputes.
He finished the regional school for human rights in transition countries in Southeast Europe, which was held in Dubrovnik and Belgrade.
He successfully participated in the seminar on the right to fair trial organized by the Belgrade Centre for Human Rights, the seminar on EU law, the seminar on workshops, the workshop on case management and holding meetings for settlement-alternative solving of disputes and judicial settlements as well as in several seminars and round tables in the field of civil substantive and procedural laws and court work organized by the Centre for Education of Judges of Montenegro, etc.
He participated in the Regional Conference (Southeast Europe + Turkey) on the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction.
He was a trainer-lecturer at seminars and paticipated as a panelist with a presentation at the initial workshop for the Republlic of Serbia on techniques for solving old cases within the USAID project.
He had his paper published and presented his paper at the Kopaonik School of Natural Law.
As an expert, he was on a study visit to the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.

– Speaks English and French.
